The following were €20 winners at the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in Wynnes Bar;- Trevor Conroy, Christy Dolan, Damiem Killoran, Liam Mullaney, Tom Commons, Catherine McDermott, Bridie Gallagher, Marie McPadden, Brendan Gaffney and Thomas and Phil Battles. The house prize was won by Ann Suffin. The numbers drawn were 8/18/21/25. The jackpot wasn't won. It will be at €5,800 for this Saturday night's draw which will be held in Mattimoe's Bar. Mary Clifford's team will be in charge. Thanks to Brogans and Natural Options Pharmacies for input with Lotto.
The National Automation Ltd minors had a successful week with two good wins in the Division 1 League. They defeated Strokestown on Tuesday last and St. Brigids on Sunday, both games in the Abbey Park. They are due to make the long journey, on Sunday next, to Woodmount to take on Padraig Pearses.
The U16s’ will play Roscommon Gaels on this Thursday at 7pm in the Abbey Park in the Division 1 League.
The Cooney Motors/ Cooneys Centra Junior team lost away to Padraig Pearses on Saturady evening last in the Tansey Cup.
The McGovern Directional Drilling team will be back in action on Sunday next when they take on Eire Og in the O'Gara Cup in Loughglynn at 1.30pm.
The Minor Club had a very successful afternoon in the Abbey Park on Easter Monday to coincide with the presentation of medals tolast year's successful underage teams. The highlight of the afernoon was arguably the "exhibition" game between a team consisting of the underage panels with some augmentation from the adult ranks and a team that included the fathers of the younger players together with some former "greats" from the Club. There were also other games involving the age 10 and under panels. Medals were presented to the U16 Division 1 and Championship runners-up panels and the County League and County Championship winning minor panel by County U21 Manager and former star Roscommon player Nigel Dineen. The Club extends its thanks to Nigel for making time to do the presentations and for his well chosen words of advice and encouragement for our young players. Presentations were also made to the U16 management team of Jonathan Conroy, Aidan Lavin and James Goldrick and to the minor management team of Vincent Flanagan, Jonathan Conroy, Liam Conroy and Tom Kearney. The Club also expresses its sincere thanks to Dr Marian Brogan and her husband James who have kindly presented a set of jackets to the underage panel. A special presentation was made to Club stalwart Sean Young on the occasion of his celebration of his significant birthday.Thanks is extended to Gerry, Charlie and Vinard and the other members of the Minor Club for the organising of the event, to Mary Halligan, Olive Filan, Mary Clifford and Claire Conway who looked after the catering and to Mike Junior Smith who was an excellent MC for the evening.
An important meeting of the Club will be held on this Wednesday at 9pm in the Clubroom. All members are requested to attend to review progress on the selling of the Club's fundraising tickets and to arrange for the sale of the County Board tickets.
All team managers are again reminded of the importance of ensuring that all plastic bottles are emptied and disposed of in the containers provided at the end of each training session and following each game. This has improved recently especially with the way bottle tops are removed. This may sound like alittle thing but it contributes to the reduction of the numbers of bins used and thus paid for.

The sympathy of the Club is extended to Mary Halligan on the death of her mother Mrs Mary Cregg, Corrigeen, Mantua. The Halligan family are a highly regarded family in the workings of the club.
The Club extends its best wishes to all who will receive their Confirmation on Sunday next and also to Donal Smith, Tadhg Lowe and the Roscommon U21s and to the management team, including our own David Casey on Saturday next against Cavan in Longford at 4 I believe. There will certainly be a large contingent from Boyle and Ros. there, though the weather forecast that I hear in the background isn't promising.

Boyle Ladies Club;
The adult team had mixed fortunes at the weekend. They went down disappointingly to Ballinameen in their first Junior League game of the season in Ballinameen on Friday evening. They bounced back from that set-back on Sunday to record an impressive four point win over Barna, Co Galway in the Connacht League in Williamstown. They are scheduled to play Shannon Gaels in the Junior League on Sunday next. The U16 girls are due to play Western Gaels this week in the semi final-see fixtures.The U21 girls play Strokestown on this Tuesday at 7pm in their first championship outing. Training for all other teams continues as usual.

Mary Halligan, our Minor Club Treasurer, has been bereaved by the death of her mother Mrs. Mary Cregg, Corrigeen, Mantua, Elphin. Her remains will be reposing at Brady's Funeral Home, Elphin from 4.30pm tomorrow (Sunday), with removal at 6pm to Kilmaryal Church. Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am in Kilmaryal with burial immediatly afterwards in adjoining cemetary .

Well done to a very gritty Boyle minor team on their win over Strokestown this evening. Both teams were understrength but this win keeps Boyle in a very competitive league hunt. There was plenty of good football as there always is when these teams meet. It demonstrates that the team is still a force. The team has real power players in McGrath and McKenna and a fine supporting cast with Eoin Lavin getting a peach of a goal this evening, Lukie Brennan, Dylan Mattimoe and so on. I used to say this last year but I recommend it again that if you have the chance to go and see this team play, do so, as you will not be disappointed whether they win or lose as they are in with a number of very good sides like Strokestown, Roscommon Gaels, St. Brigids, Pearses and so on.

We wish Tomas Halligan well and we hope he is not seriously injured. He got a nasty knock in the game. Fair play to the speedy attendance of the medical support services.

A late amendment to the fixtures details on the blog.

The County Fixtures Committee  have determined that the Junior League fixtures (Tansey Cup) are going ahead next weekend instead of the O'Gara Cup games. Boyle will not be in action in the O'Gara Cup against Michael Glaveys as previously stated. Instead the Cooney Motor/Cooneys Centra team will play Padraig Pearses in Woodmount this weekend in the Tansey Cup. Further details to follow as they become available.

Mon. 11pm. Among the activities in the Abbey Park this afternoon was a game between a Veterans selection and the Apprentice Boys. The result, as is often the case in these games, is disputed. The veterans are in dispute with their dietician, obviously.

This afternoon (Monday) has the Minor Championship and League presentations.
The National Automation Ltd. minors play Strokestown in the Division 1 League on this Tuesday evening at 7pm in the Abbey Park. They will be in action again on Sunday next at 12 noon in that Abbey Park against St Brigids in the next round of this competition.
The Cooney Motors/ Cooney's Centra team had a deserved victory over Ballinameen on Saturday last in the Tansey Cup. Their next outing is scheduled for Woodmount against Padraig Pearses on 22nd April.
The McGovern Directional Drilling team suffered a three point loss to St Dominics in the O'Gara Cup on Friday evening last in Knockcroghery.They will face Eire Og in the next round of this competition in Loughglynn on Sunday next.
The Abbey Park played host to an entertaining U16 intercounty challenge game between Roscommon and Sligo on Saturday last.Well done to Dylan Mattimoe and Thomas Halligan who made their debuts in the county colours.
Congratulations to the Roscommon U21 County panel and management on winning the Connacht Championship on Saturday last, and especially to our Boyle representatives, Tadhg Lowe and Donal Smith and to David Casey on the management team. We hope that they can build on this achievement in their forthcoming All Ireland Semi Final.
Congratulations also to Roscommon minors on retaining the Connacht Minor League and to our Boyle representatives Tadhg McKenna, Brian Furey and Evan McGrath.
The Club congratulates Sean Purcell on his recent engagement to Catriona on their recent engagement. Tickets are available from all Club members and players for the forthcoming fundraiser draw which has as its first prize a monster trailer load of firewood.

Mon. 12.50 pm. There is a lot of material here this week which indicates the level and range of activity in the club at the moment as it gets into full gear. There are a lot of thank yous and congrats (approx. 12) also which shows the recognition of the support for the club in the area. So thank you all especially the core cabinets which keeps the three arms of the club on track.

The house prize was won by Lisa O'Sullivan. The numbers drawn were: 1/5/21/27. The jackpot wasn't won. This week's draw will be held in Wynne's Bar on Saturday night next when the jackpot will be €5,700. Team C will be in charge.
The U14s' had a disappointing loss at home to Strokestown in the Division 1 League. The U16s' are due to play St Dominick's. Good Friday evening is a likely date but see fixtures for confirmation.
The National Automation Limited minors will meet Strokestown in their next Division 1 League game on Tuesday next the10th of April in the Abbey Park at 7pm.
The McGovern Directional Drilling Intermediate team had a deserved win over Kilglass Gaels on a scoreline of 1.10 to 0. 6 in their O'Gara Cup game in the Abbey Park on Sunday. The half time score was Boyle 1.3 Kilglass 0.3. Boyle were in control in the second half and were deserving winners. However there are tougher assignments to come. Their next game against St Dominic's, in Knockcroghery, on Friday evening next; at 5pm is one of those. Congrats to Seanie Purcell and Caitriona on their engagement over the week end. I heard Liam Conroy refer to the couple as, the 'Posh and Becks' of Boyle!
The Club wishes Michael O'Donnell and Mark O'Connor speedy recoveries from injuries sustained in the game and our appreciation is expressed to Dr Marian Brogan for her assistance in dealing with the injuries.
The Cooney Motors/ Conney's Centra team will play Ballinameen on Saturday next in Boyle at 3.45pm.
The Club extends its congratulations to our Club President John Joe Nerney who celebrated his 90th birthday at the weekend.
The Minor Club presentation evening will take place on Easter Monday. Proceedings will commence with a very important fathers versus sons game at 3pm. This will be followed by an exhibition game by the U8s' and U10s'. All U8s' and U10s' are asked to be in attendance at 3pm. Medals will be presented to the double winning Division 1 Championship and Division 1 League winning minors while runners up medals will be presented to the U16s. 'Player of the Year' awards in the different underage categories will also be presented. Club supporters and parents are asked to come along and show appreciation and support to our fine underage players and their management teams.
Thanks to all who helped in the staging of the Connacht minor league game between Roscommon and Sligo in the Abbey Park on Saturday evening. Well done to Tadhg McKenna and Brian Furey on their performances in the Roscommon victory and especially to Tadhg on captaining the team on the day. Congrats also to Jonathan, Barry and Aisling, the Boyle representatives in the team management.
Thanks to all who assisted in the sale of tickets for the Club's fundraising draw at the minor game and at the County Roscommon Ploughing Championships in Boyle. Tickets for this draw which has as its first prize a monster trailer load of firewood, as well as a voucher for €200 worth of heating oil courtesy of Corrib Oil, and a cash prize of €100, are available from all Club players and members.
Congratulations to all involved in the hosting of the Ploughing on Pat Clarke's farm on Sunday, in making the event an outstanding success.
Congratulations also are also extended to the schools quiz teams from Corrigeenroe N.S. and St Joseph's Boys N.S.who performed excellently in the Credit Union Schools Quiz National Finals in the RDS, Dublin at the weekend.
Those who have not yet paid their 'household ...' sorry Club membership are advised this is now overdue. All players and managers and officials are advised that they cannot participate in Club activities unless they are paid up members.
All users of the Abbey Park are implored to keep the place tidy at all times and to put all litter in the appropriate recepticles. As I have said before banana skins and such are not recyclable. Also bottles do not need the tops to be firmly screwed on as this leads to bins half full of water weighing a ton being disposed of.
Team managements are urged to ensure that all plastic bottles etc are collected and properly discarded after all games and training sessions.
Roscommon U16s' will play Sligo in a challenge game in the Abbey Park on Saturday at 11pm. Boyle is represented on the panel by Dylan Mattimoe and Thomas Halligan.The Club extends its best wishes to Donal Smith and Tadhg Lowe and their colleagues on the Roscommon U21 team and management in the Connacht Final versus Sligo in Hyde Park on Saturday next. The Roscommon minor league team play before this final.
Ladies Club;
Training for all age groups continues at the usual times throughout the week and full attendances are requested. Hard luck on the U16 girls who lost their quarter-final to Padraig Pearses by an agonising one point in the Abbey Park on Sunday. They still have a Division 1B League Semi Final versus Western Gaels to look forward to on Sunday 15th April. The senior girls had a succesful workout against Western Gaels on Saturday evening in Frenchpark.The Ladies Club expresses its thanks to the huge numbers who supported a most successful Fashion Show in St Joseph's Hall on Friday night last. Thanks to all involved in making it such a success.
