evening.

The McGovern Directional Drilling Intermediates suffered a three point defeat
to Padraig Pearses in the O’Gara Cup Final in Tulsk on Saturday evening.
It was disappointing that they didn’t collect silverware but they have
,nevertheless, had a great Division 2 League campaign and gaining promotion to
Division 1 for next year. Congratulations are extended to Pearses, who are the
only team that Boyle has lost to this season. The lads will now re-group for
their upcoming Intermediate Championship Quarte Final in which they will play
St Dominics on the weekend of 6th September.
Congratulations are extended to
all club players (male and female) who got their Leaving Cert
results and we wish them every success in their third level choices.
The Club also congratulates the Boyle Community Games U14 Relay Team, and Ruth
Cox and Saoirse Wynne who all performed well for Co Roscommon at the Community
Games National Finals in Athlone at the weekend.
Sympathy is extended to
the Rock family, Sheegora on the death of Ann Flynn, Kilmactranny, and to
the Cooney Family (our Junior team sponsors) on the passing of Mrs Baby Cooney,
mother of former player Seamus and grandmother of former player Alan Cooney.
Ladies Club
The Intermediate Girls went down to much physically stronger Kilbride side in the Intermediate Championship in Kilbride on Thursday evening. The girls fought bravely but the strength of the Kilbride girls and their experience of playing at a higher level told at the end. They will have a chance to return to winning ways when they take on Roscommon Gaels in their next championship outing. The minor girls are awaiting details of their next championship outing.
