Thanks  to all who have responded to the Club Lotto membership renewal request. They will be contacted by a Club official during the coming week.
The long awaited U11 Keenan Cup and U14 Garda Cup competitions will commence towards end of October. The respective panels have been preparing eagerly for some considerable time and it’s a pity that they will have to play when playing conditions are likely to have deteriorated.
The National Automation Limited U21s will play St Aidans in the U21 Division 1 Championship in Ballyforan on Sunday at 12 noon. (the County Senior Final between St. Brigid’s and western Gaels is on Sunday @ 4. I am told that this game will also be televised by T. na G. Cane Western Gaels break the dominance of Brigid’s ?)
The Cooney Motors/ Cooney’s Centra Juniors are still awaiting news of two fixtures; their Junior ‘B’ North Semi- Final versus Kilmore and their  Division 4 League Semi-Final versus Clan na Gael.
The McGovern Directional Drilling Intermediates are in preparation for their upcoming Championship Final versus Tulsk on Sunday the 20th October. It’s time to decorate the town and parish with maroon and white. Flags and bunting are available from Kelly’s Londis and Abbeytown Express store.

Those interested in participating in Scór na nOg are advised that entries must be submitted to the Coiste Scór Ros Comáin by 1st November. The Club is anxious that someone will take responsibility for promoting and organising Scór in the Club, as it is an equally important aspect of the GAA.

Mon. 11.30.

The McGovern Directional Drilling Juniors may have a fixture at the weekend--see fixtures for details.
The National Automation Limited U21s’ got a walkover from Michael Glavey’s in the first round of the Division 1 U21 Championship. The late call on that was pretty inconvenient.
Thanks is extended to all Club members and players who made the trip to Ennis on Saturday to assist with the fundraising project of the raffle of All Ireland Hurling Final Replay tickets. There were 3 very pleased Ennis, winners that afternoon.
The Club wishes to inform Club players who are at third level education that the Connacht Council is offering bursaries and that applications must be submitted to the Connacht Council office in Ballyhaunis by 11th October. Details are available on the Connacht Council website or from Club officers.
Congratulations are extended to the Mayo minors on their All Ireland Final success a commiserations to the seniors on their latest near miss. It was a peculiar game but the all-round nuances in the team and play of Dublin saw them home. The tactical approach and ability of Cluxton to enable the Dubs to play ‘around’ the formidable (in the traditional sense) Mayo  midfield was a major factor and the sheer pace of the support coming through the middle for Dublin, especially with McCauley, was huge. The Mayo forward line was poor. Conroy made little impact this time. Higgins was their star player with the wing backs again. Dublin, though they won by just a point, had 3 of the 5 contenders for ‘Man of the Match’ in Cluxton/Brogan and McCauley with Higgins and Hennelly being the Mayo contenders despite the goalie’s mistake for the opening goal. There was another big (if somewhat understandable) mistake by an umpire with a miscall for a ‘45’. Then there was the slowness of O’Connor with the late frees and the misunderstanding, from a Mayo player’s point of view, with the referee’s timing at the death. A pity it wasn’t a draw!
Congratulations to former Boyle Club player Paddy Daly on his 90th birthday. It's a pity he did not get the present of a Mayo All-Ireland win as I believe he was at the game.

Ladies Club
The Intermediate Ladies bowed out of this years championship after an epic semi-final battle with Eire Og in Frenchpark on Saturday evening. The sides finished level at the end of normal time at 1. 8 each, with Boyle’s goal coming from the excellent Danielle Gaffney. There was never more than a few points between the sides throughout the game and this pattern extended  into the first period of extra time. However, the Eire Og girls secured the vital scores in the second period of extra time to secure victory on a score line of 3.12 to 1. 12. It has been a marvellous achievement for the girls to reach the semi final and to go so close to victory in their first year in the Intermediate grade. It is to be hoped that the panel and the management will stay together and come back next year with the aim to build on this year’s experience. Team;- Christina Healy, Saoirse Flaherty,, Sinead Keenehan, Shauna Moran, Natasha Regan, Catriona Leonard, Susie Keenehan, Catriona Hanmore, Maria Keenehan, Danni Gaffney, Nicole McDermott, Emer Killilea, Sarah Keenehan, Danni McLoughlin and Sinead O’Donoghue. Sub used Orla Nicholson for Sarah Keenehan. Other subs;- Mellissa Goldrick, Mairead King, Caoimhe Morris, Catherine Lynch and Nicole Kerins. Management Paul Beirne and Bernie Shannon.
