TRX SYSTEMOn Friday 28th January 2011 at 7.30PM in the Mercy Secondary School GYM, Claremorris the new TRX Training System will be demonstrated. This is a simple suspension system that is designed to maintain and develop strength while simultaneously conditioning the core. I think it may be of real practical value to all GAA teams.
Its uses may be accessed on the web site www.fitnessanywhere.com
Can you please notify your managers/coaches and extend our invitation to them.

Fri. 11am.
*** Boyle GAA are looking for more people to join the Lotto teams. The Lotto is the club's lifeblood. There are people who have been doing the Lotto for years. We have lost people like Karl Keenan snd some others. As somone who is on a team and while it is not something I enjoy, I realise its importance and also when one gets stuck into it, on the night, it is not such an intimidating gig. People are generally very good and the bars deserve great credit for their hosting. So come on it means just 4/5 bars, with someone else, once every ten weeks. People who could surely come on board are team members.Give me a ring and I'll pass it on
While on tha matter it would be good and encouraging for the club to see younger members at meetings expressing their opinions. There were just a few at the A.G.M. but they were very polite. New blood is always vital.
Lotto: At Saturday night's draw in Clarke's there was no jackpot winner of the €2,500. The numbers drawn were 4/17/18/28. The €20 winners were Deirdre Purcell/Aaron O'Connor/Perpetua McGee/John&Margaurita Nally/Peter Gavican/Monica Daly/Maura Shannon/Ethan O'Flaherty/Sean Simon/Fergal Quinn. The House Prize was won by Carmel McMaster. The next draw will take place in The patrick's Well on the 29th of January with Team 'B' in charge, with the Jackpot at €2,600.

At the AGM Gary Wynne said he neeeded a person to operate the camera for matches. Kit O'Connor did this last year but has become more involved in the camera club and would not be able to committ to Boyle games. There has to be somone who would be interested in serving their time at this.
Why is it that Boyle does not get a relevant F.B.D. game?
While I am, like so many people, aghast at the goings on in the Dail. On an aside it seems as if the R.T.E studios have now taken over from the Dail as there are certain people, at least, constantly on the air. So on March the 11th are we voting for representation as T.Ds' or on R.T.E?

Thanks were expressed to the media, Roscommon Herald and People and realboyle and to Mary Regan and Sean O’Dowd for their attendance. 10am.
The Minor Club presentation night will be held in St Joseph's Hall on this Friday night 14th January at 7.30pm. Awards will be presented to the underage club players of the year in the different age categories. All underage players i.e. up to under18 level are asked to attend and parents are especially invited to come along.
The Minor Club will hold their registration evening for all children who are under 10 years of age and who wish to play football with Boyle in 2011. It will be held in the Sports Complex on Tuesday 18th January from 5.45pm to 7pm. Each child should be accompanied by a parent or guardian
The Senior Club AGM will be held in the Clubroom on Sunday next 16th January at 4pm. All those interested in Gaelic games in Boyle Parish are cordially invited to come along. As most outgoing officers appear to be seeking re-election, new attendees should not have any fear of being landed with an officer-ship, unless of course they wish to do so. The nomination forms have been circulated to all members and the return of same to the Sec. would be good, appropriate and appreciated. The AGM is a great opportunity to review activities for the past year and to make preparations and improvements for the coming year and a large attendance is expected.
There will be a Club meeting on this Wednesday night at 8.30pm in the Clubroom to make arrangements for the upcoming LAMA Awards night -Sat. Jan. the 22nd- at which our new club facilities have been nominated for an award.
The following were €20 at the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in the Hideaway on 1st January;- Kevin and Maria Lavin, Michael Smith Jnr, Rory Nevin, Gerry Cregg, Jackie Harvey, Triona O'Dowd, Tony Garvin, Joe Kennedy, Deirdre Kearns and Grainne McQuaid. The house prize was won by Richard Ellis. There was no jackpot winner and a jackpot of €2,500 will be on offer for this week's draw which will be held in Clarke’s on Saturday night next. Aidan Lavin's team will be in charge. The club wishes to thank all those who support the draw and the bars who facilitate it. As we have said before it is the lifeblood of the club.
The street league finals were victims of the weather on Sunday. It is expected that they will be played on Sunday next. The Club extends its congratulations to Gerry Cregg on his election of County Youth Officer at the County Convention on Saturday last. Gerry and all the other officials are extended best wishes as they manage the affairs of Roscommon GAA in 2011 especially the new County Board Chairman Michael Fahey (former Boyle team Manager) who is carrying on a family tradition as his father was a long-time GAA officer in a myriad of roles.
We extend our best wishes to Killian Egan who I believe has returned to Oz and to our constituents there and to others who I know will be wending their ways to, as Micheal O Hehir used to say on All-Ireland commentary days, ‘lands across the seas’ in the coming weeks.
The Club expresses its condolences to former Boyle player of the seventies and the eighties, Greg McCrann, Roscommon, on the death of his father, and with Anne Marie Lennon and Mary Nicholson, Boyle on the death of their father, Bernie Kearney, Trien, Castlerea.

Happy New Year:
The following were €20 winners at the Club Lotto draw which was held in An Craoibhin on 18th December; Mary and Liam Coyle, Michael Hunt, John and Olivia Kelly, Paul and Anita Kearney, Martin Supple, Tom Gallagher, P.Butler, Michelle Simon/Triona Mullaney, Ciaran Keenehan and Jordan Maye. The house prize was won by Katriona Duffy. There was no jackpot winner.
The Abbey Park has been a hive of activity in recent days with the playing of a very successful and competitive street league. There has been a huge turnout of players and their efforts are greatly appreciated. It was good to see some of our returned players participating and also some ‘guests’. Also some of the experimental rules panned out well. The pace of the game apparently confused a Sligo goalkeeper and led to a defining moment in one while it was a bit unfair to take advantage in this way we won’t dwell on it go hard on him! The final will be played anon. Perhaps next Sunday is out due to the commencement of the F.B.D. League Ros. v GMIT in Ballyforan. Anyway the final will be contested between The Warren and The Town with the ‘Plate’ between Forest View and Deerpark. Apparently after the seasonal goodwill only ‘legitimate’ teams will be allowed in these games. The Club extends its thanks to Wynne’s Bar and the Moylurg Inn for the provision of sandwiches and refreshments after the street league games. The goal of the series goes to Alan Cooney.
The Annual Quiz, which was held in a packed Moving Stairs on Wednesday night last, was a resounding success, as a fundraiser and socially. The winners from a total of 47 teams were the Keane Family and friends, Granny, Ballinameen. Thanks to all who participated and helped and thanks to Quizmaster Tony Conboy for his own brand of quiz which helped make the night special and to Barry Lowe and staff in the Moving Stairs for their assistance. It is now a seasonal fixture and with the necessary adjustments to some of its elements it will hopefully continue to improve.
The Minor Board presentation night has been postponed until Friday week 14th January-more details next week.
The Senior Board AGM will be held in the Clubroom on Sunday week the 16th January. The nomination and motionj forms have been circulated but the return to date has been slow. A meeting of the Club will be held in the Clubroom on Wednesday night the 12th. of January to consider arrangements for the forthcoming LAMA awards ceremony for which our Clubrooms have been shortlisted. The County Convention takes place this coming Saturday in St. Brigid’s complex.
The Club extends its sympathy to the Dennehy family, Elphin, the Jordan family, Loughglynn and the Langan family, Boyle on their recent bereavements.
