I am sorry this is going up sorta late but my internet has been ‘down’ for some days.
Senior A.G.M.:
Reports and Commendations:
There was a well attended AGM of the senior club on Sunday in the Royal Hotel. The Club reviewed an eventful year in the Chairperson, Aidan Lavin's address and the comprehensive reports of the Secretary, Kathleen Hanmore and the Treasurer, Michael Gilmartin. The reports noted that the first team acheived O'Rourke Cup status and the second team achieved Tansey Cup status for 2010 and they noted the successes of the Under 16 and Under 14 teams in particular in the under age levels. All team managements were complimented on their achievements and especially Pat Leonard and Noel Casey who were stepping down after two successful years involvement with the first team. Other highlights noted included participation in the St Patrick's Day parade, the Lá na gClub 125th anniversary celebrations, the re-emergence of participation in Scór and the hosting of the County Convention as well as holding a very successful dinner dance. The other big highlight was the commencement of construction of the new clubrooms which are due for completion in April. The meeting noted the substantial financial committment that this development entails.
Sponsors:
The meeting paid fulsome tributes to its sponsors- Mc Govern Directional Drilling, Feelystone, Ultimate Insulation (Alan Simon), Purcell Print and Barry Lowe (Moving Stairs). Of course the Club would welcome, very much indeed, elements of sponsorship for the coming year. So if you wish to help there please get in touch with the officers of the Club.
