All Boyle GAA people are asked to support the Irish Night fundraiser in the Moving Stairs on Saturday night next, from 9.30, for Dessie McLoughlin’s climb of Mont Blanc in aid of the Western Alzheimer’s Association. Please spread the word on that. Dessie has been one of the great Boyle GAA people, as a player, manager official and referee mentor (!), since he first started out with Sean Young and Co. in the mid seventies. He is also a great supporter of many causes such as the Mental Health Association in Roscommon and the Plunkett Home and many others anonymously. So this is our opportunity to show him our support and recognition for his major contribution in the past and ongoing. The Alzheimer’s cause is a most worthy one as has been highlighted recently.
Lotto:The following were €20 winners at the Club's most recent draw which was held in An Craoibhín recently;-Vincent McDonagh, Canon Gerry Hanly, John Joe Carty, Nuala and Gerry Morris, Owen Garvin, Niall O'Donoghue, Caroline Carty, Clive Roe, Cecil Tivnan and Mary Cox. The house prize was won by Mary McDermott. As announced last week, the jackpot of €4,200 was won by Monica and Michael Gilmartin. This week's draw will be held on Saturday night next in the Hideaway and Team A will be in charge.
The U12s are due to play Padraig Pearses in Pairc an Phiarsaigh on Sunday next at 12 noon in the Division 1 League. The U12 B team were to play St Barrys on Monday evening.
The U14s had good win over Padraig Pearses in the Championship in the Abbey Park on Thursday last. They will travel to Roscommon to play Roscommon Gaels in the next round on this Thursday evening at 7pm.
The McGovern Directional Drilling team secured a hard earned draw against St Joseph’s in the Tansey Cup on Saturday evening last in the Abbey Park. Victory would have brought them nearer a play-off position. They will play Creggs on Saturday evening at 7pm in the Abbey Park in the last game of the league section. This now becomes a must-win game in order to be sure of making the play-offs.
Well done to the pupils and teachers in Scoil na nAingeal Naofa on winning the All Ireland Junior School Wardens competition. They are coached by teacher Fiona Keenan and Garda Fergal O'Donnell. Hopefully this is a good omen for Fergal as he leads his troops into battle against Leitrim in the Hyde on Sunday. Good luck to him and the lads and especially our Boyle connections-Stephen Bohan, Joe Sweeney, Boyle and County goalkeeping coach, and our panel members Sean Purcell and David Casey.

Go raibh maith agaibh,
Martin Dolan/T. C.,
P.R.O. Boyle GAA Club.
