Team E will be in charge.

Sunday next will be a major day for the Club when our National Automation Limited minors take on Michael Glaveys in the Division 1 County Minor Final in Hyde Park. The game will commence at 2pm and all with an interest in Boyle GAA are asked to go along and lend their support. Boyle supporters are asked to try to congregate together in the grounds and to bring flags and banners. It is also hoped that flags and bunting will be erected around the town during the week.
The Cooney Motors/ Cooney's Centra team performed disappointingly against Castlerea St Kevins in the Tansey Cup in the Abbey Park on Saturday evening last. They have one remaining game in this competition-against Creggs in a few weeks time and it is to be hoped that they will get back to winning ways then and thus make the semi finals of this competition.
The U12s have finished their activities for the season. Thanks to the entire panel and their management for the great efforts.
The U16s' are awaiting the fixing of their league final.
The Abbey Park will host a Division 2 Championship Semi Final on Saturday next at 5pm between Strokestown and St Croan’s. Club members are asked to attend to do stewarding.
There will be a get-together in the Abbey Bar on this Friday night at 10pm for those who participated in the recent Walk to Croker. This will be an opportunity to review photographic and video footage of this historic event. All are invited to attend.
Congratulations are extended to Blaithín and Gerry Cregg on the recent birth of their daughter and to Maura and Noel Casey on the birth of a son.
Sympathy is extended to the McMorrow Family, Carrick Road on the death of Mrs. Eithne McMorrow. (I remember Cyril being a good under-age player for us in the late seventies and his son Aaron likewise in the nineties T.C.).
Boyle Ladies;
The Junior Ladies suffered a four points loss to St Marys in the Division 3 League Final in Croghan on Saturday. A much improved second half display almost resulted in victory. This brings their season to an end. While it was disappointing to lose both the championship and league finals, it is important to remember that they reached those finals and defeated almost all the teams in their groups and that there is now an extended panel with a promising blend of youth and experience which should reap dividends next year. Thanks to all the girls and to the management for their comittment and hard work throughout the year.

Tansey Cup Division 3 League: Determined Castlerea Overcome Boyle.
Castlerea 2.4 Boyle 0.5.
A poverty of capability was very evident, from a Boyle perspective, in this game. I don’t know where the result leaves Boyle after this poor performance. Boyle just managed one point in the first half, which ended; Castlerea 1.3. Boyle 0.1. Castlerea showed a commendable determination, despite being short a number of players, as we were told. Boyle did show some more ambition in the second half, and hope flickered, but a second Castlerea goal quenched the light.
Boyle Junior Team: T. McGarty, Ml. Hanmore, J. Healy, J.S. Lyons, C. Beirne, C. Cox, Ml. McHale (0.1 fr.), S. Tonra, P. Lavin, C. Lavin, D. Callaghan (0.3, 2frs, 1 45) , N. McKenna, J. Suffin, D. O’Connor (0.1), B. Harvey with S. Spellman and D. Kelly.
Presidential Candidate, Michael D. Higgins meets two Boyle V.I.P.s' the efferescent Michael Gilmartin and the irrepressible Kathleen Hanmore, near Croke Park. All three would make excellent candidates.....maybe next time.....whatever the Presidential model.
'There is no Show like a Joe Show'.....Boyle walkers pay homage to Joe Dolan in Mullingar on the Wednesday. Mary Clifford, Jan Kennedy, Bernie Mullens, 'Joe Dolan', Keith Suffin, Fidelma Morris, Owen Garvin, Michael Costello, Bernie Shannon.
Sunday 2 pm.

It would be a surprise if there were no mistakes in the above and I will accept corrections, no problem.
It was a brilliant and memorable effort, with fantastic organisation and while the net results were somewhat below what the effort might have deserved it was still very worthwhile. One cannot know what the result is until one tries and the project is completed.
