This is a last call for pics. items or ideas for the programme for the dressing room opening.
Busy week-end: The entire weekend was taken up with the staging of a most successful golf classic which was held in glorious sunshine in the blissful surroundings of Boyle Golf Club. Details of winners will be published next week. Thanks are extended to the Captains and members of the Golf Club for enabling us to use their facilities and especially to Phil and Gerry for their marvellous hospitality and hard work and for feeding the multitudes. Thanks to all participants and to our many sponsors. Special thanks to Michael and Kit for their trojan efforts in making it the tremendous success that it was.
The official opening of our new clubroom facilities will be at the May bank holiday weekend and the precise date and details will be confirmed shortly. The Club asks all able bodied members to make themselves available on Saturday next the 17th from 9.30am to do a major tidy up on the Abbey Park in preparation for the opening. It was also a busy and largely successful weekend on the playing fields. The U14s’ lost to a strong Clan na Gael team in the Feile competition. The Feelystone junior team earned a well deserved draw against Padraig Pearses in Woodmount on Saturday evening last. They also sit at the top of the Tansey Cup table. Their next game is scheduled against Kilbride on the May weekend.
The McGowan Directional Drilling team will entertain Clan na Gael in the Abbey Park on Sunday next in the O’Rourke Cup/Division 1-see fixtures. A good turn out of support would be appreciated as the team still needs vital points to ensure staying in Division 1.The U16s will have a home game against Strokestown on Sunday next-see fixtures for details. The Club extends best wishes to the Roscommon U21 team and management in the All Ireland Semi Final against Dublin on Saturday next.
