Fri. 12 noon.
Quiz tonight at 9.47.
This is a big week end for sport. There is rugby, cricket and a host of GAA games.
Boyle Minors v S. Brigid's on Sat. Boyle Juniors v Kilglass on Sun. at 2.30 oddly considering that Roscommon v Fermanagh at Kiltoom at 2.30. Then you have Boyle Ladies v Ml. Glavey's, I presume away. There are three attractive games tomorrow Saturday: Roscommon C.B.S. v Marymount, Ck.-on-Shannon at Elphin at 12.30 in the Connacht Colleges 'B'Final and St. Jarlath's v Summerhill in the 'A' final at the Hyde at 2.30 I think. Ir. v Wales on Sat. also, away. As I write Friday 11.50 Ireland are playing the West Indies in the cricket. Thye've lost!!
We of course all wish St. Brigid's well on St. Patrick's Day v Crossmaglen. It has come to my notice that there will be a Boyle connection involved in the club All-Ireland on St Patrick's Day.
RĂan Callaghan, daughter of former Boyle player Kevin and grandaughter of Western Gaels legend Tom Callaghan x Boyle Vocational school, Rian will play on a St Brigid's U-12 mixed team to face Crossmaglen at half time in the Senior game.
Anyone with tickets with the prize for the New York game are asked to put in the push in the next few days. The draw will take place at a presentation night on Saturday the 19th in the clubrooms where 'The Hall of Fame' and 'Club Person of the Year' plus other presentations will be made.
I don't know if the club is having a float in the St. Patrick's Day parade but hopefully. There are plenty of material for loats and ideas this year one imagines.
