Monday 12.30 am.
Brian Supple, Club Registrar, will attend at both training sessions for the intermediate and junior panels on the coming weekend to collect club registration fees from all who propose to play adult football with the Club during the coming season. All players are reminded that club registration is an essential prequisite to playing for the Club and this has to be universally enforced.

Those wishing to participate in any of the forthcoming Adult Scór competitions are asked to contact Martin Dolan at 086 2413529 as soon as possible.

Martin Purcell, Pitch Co-Ordinator will be holding a meeting with all team managers of adult and minor teams as well as managers of the various Ladies Club teams in order to plan a schedule of use of the pitch and training facilities in the coming season.

The Club wishes to congratulate Danny Burke, Castlerea on being announced as the worthy winner of this year's Roscommon/Herald SuperValu, ‘Sports Hall of Fame’ award.

The Club extends good wishes to Des Newton and the Roscommon panel as they commence their National Football League campaign against Tipperary on Sunday next at Hyde Park. Following that the League schedule is as follows: Feb. 12th v Offaly A/ March 4th v Longford A/ 11th v Antrim H/ 18th v Wexford A/ 25th v Cavan H/ April 8th - Easter Sunday- v Sligo A. The St. Brigid’s v Garrycastle game is on Sat. Feb. 18th in Longford.

Good luck is also extended to Donal Smith and his DCU colleagues in the upcoming O'Byrne Cup Final and also in the Sigerson Cup which I imagine is in full flight now as the finals are in Galway on Feb. 24th and 25th.
Boyle Minor Club will hold two important events within the next few weeks and dates will be confirmed shortly; first the Minor Board AGM and second the Annual Presentation Night on which night their medals will be presented to the very successful minor panel of 2011.

Boyle Ladies Club;
The Ladies Club AGM will be held in the Clubroom on Sunday next the 5th of February at 5pm. All players, parents and supporters are invited to attend. It is important that this meeting is well supported as a lot of good work is ongoing in the development of ladies football in the Club at all age levels. The U16 girls commenced their season with a challenge game against Western Gaels last week. Thanks to Western Gaels for providing a useful workout for both panels. U16 training continues on Wednesday and Friday evenings.

T.C. Errata- Don’t’ forget to vote for Chris O’Dowd in the Rising Star category for the BAFTAS. Sean had a vote link up last week but I imagine you can source it on the Meteor BAFTAS site.
I hope to begin having this blog linked or whatever on Facebook shortly….or have Boyle GAA on Facebook if you like. I am told that it is so simple (technology wise) that even and adult can do it! comprende!
There was an interesting little column by Eamon O’Hara regarding the paying and development of an elite group of professional referees on Sunday’s Independent Sport's front page.
Next Sunday’s 9.30 Mass in Boyle is the first Anniversary Mass for Sean Kenny a gifted musician but also a Boyle GAA player in his young days. The 11.30 Mass remembers Darragh Dooley who played with us as an excellent young player on very good St. Joseph’s National School and club teams but died tragically in February 2001.
Congratulations to Boyle Celtic on their event last Saturday evening at Celtic Park. It was such a pity that the weather played the bad on their prestige event.
As I watch sport I notice how prevalent the rash of the tattoo has become especially in English soccer. Of course David Beckham was a trailblazer in a fashion I find very distasteful. It was once the signature of many British Merchant Navy seamen and Popeye but I really hope it doesn’t catch on around here.
I mentioned before that I was looking for shelving that can be assembled and dismantled (if you get my drift). I’ve had one guide but maybe there are other possibilities.
I think that is enough to be going on with! You have done well to reach here. You could possibly now consider reading Ulysses. Joking of course.
Go raibh maith agaibh,
