Abbey Community College 2.9 Glenamaddy 1.10.
Abbey Community College second years had a fine win over Glenamaddy in the Connacht Colleges final at Loughglynn on Tuesday. The teams were level at 1.5 each at half time. In this half Boyle relied for the most part on the free-taking of Micheal Lavin. A good goal by Eoin Lavin twelve minutes into the second half set Boyle on their way but not without some anxious moments towards the end. Glenamaddy relied too much on one very good player while Abbey College was better balanced side. The Abbey side was as folllows: J. McDermott, J. Morris, G. Gunning, J. Sweeney, T. Duignan, C. Goldrick (Capt.), T. Burns, E. Smith, M. Lavin, C. Lavin, K. Henry, Conor Murray, E. Lavin, A. Harrington, D. Casey and J. Kilcullen. Best for Boyle were: Smith, Morris, a very good half-back line of Duignan, Goldrick and Burns. Up front it was the Lavins and the strong running Kilcullen.
