Club Senior AGM:
There was a large attendance at the Club's AGM which was held on Sunday last, January the 18th, in the Royal Hotel. Club President and former Roscommon All Ireland Senior Football medal winner John Joe Nerney complimented all club players at all age groups and their mentors and all Club officials on achieving a very successful 2008.This theme permeated the reports of Chairperson, Aidan Lavin and the Secretary, Kathleen Hanmore. Kathleen reported on a busy and successful year and acknowledged the efforts that were put in by so many. It was noted that there are high hopes for success on the playing fields in 2009 and that there are ambitious plans in preparation for construction of dressing room and ancillary facilities at the Abbey Park.
The Treasurer:
The Treasurer Michael Gilmartin, in a detailed and at times an amusing presentation (not easy in the presentation of a financial position in these times), Michael warned of the need to achieve economies in the running of the Club.
P.R.O.
The PRO Martin Dolan thanked the media-Roscommon Herald, Roscommon Champion, Shannonside, Roscommon People and Sean O'Dowd and Tony Conboy of RealBoyle.com for their excellent coverage throughout the year.
Sean Daly Remembered:
The Club remembered all who had passed away during the past year and who had associations with the Club and a minute's silence was observed for former player and team manager Sean Daly.

History Committee-Tony Conboy, Mary Clifford, Barry Feely and Martin Dolan. The filling of the intermediate and junior team management posts were deferred until the next Club meeting.Gary Wynne is to remain in charge of the U 21 team.
Thanks:
The meeting thanked John Bruen for his excellent work as Manager of the intermediate team during 2008 and extended best wishes to him and his family and wished him every success as manager of his native Eastern Harps.
Well Done:
The meeting complimented David, Sean and Damien on their fine performances on the Roscommon team in the FBD league win over Mayo. It is nearly thirteen years since Boyle had three players playing in the county senior colours on the one day. That was on February 4th 1996 when Tom Ryan, Gerry Cregg and Niall O'Donohoe played against Antrim in the national League in Hyde Park. There may have been another occasion around that time when Johnny Conroy was involved. Let me know Johnny plus the thesis! (T.C.)
Thus concluded one of the best attended and, it is fair to say, enjoyable AGMs in many years.
Quiz:
The Club will hold a table quiz, on Friday night next, 23rd January, in the Moylurg Inn, commencing circa 9.45pm. ish. All quiz enthusiasts in the region are asked to come along as this should be an entertaining night with Tony Conboy as quizmaster.
Club Social:
Plans are falling into shape for the Club's social and buffet which will be held in St Joseph's Hall on Saturday 7th February. This promises to be a very special night as the Boyle 1983 county intermediate championship winning panel and their management will be honoured. The senior club 'Players of the Year', 'Club Person of the Year' and 'Hall of Fame' awards will also be presented.
