Top Note:
1. Does anybody have a proper photograph of the 1983 Intermediate Championship winning team? The one I seem to have is a coloured photocopy.

2. Roscommon plays Mayo in the F.B.D. league at Ballyhaunis on Sunday next, the 17th. It's at 2 p.m. I presume. We'll be back just in time for the A.G.M!

A.G.M.
The Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held in the Royal Hotel on Sunday next 18th January at 5pm. All members, and those wishing to become involved in the further development of our vibrant club, are encouraged to come along. We are especially anxious to see our players and those interested in the promotion of Gaelic games for males and females at adult and underage levels in attendance.

Quiz:
The Club will hold a table quiz on Friday 23rd January in the Moylurg Inn with Tony Conboy as quizmaster. This should be a lively occasion and again we encourage players and supporters to come along and form teams of four on the night.

Social Night:
The Club will hold a special social night/buffet in St. Joseph's Hall on Saturday night 7th February. The 1983 Intermediate County Championship winning team will be honoured and the annual club awards will also be made. Tickets for the event will be EUR25 each and they are available from any of the Club executive members.
(Patrons should bear in mind that tickets numbers are limited and it is important to bear in mind that they will be sold on a first come first served basis).

E.G.M. Decision re. Dressing Rooms:
The Club decided, at a well attended E.G.M., to proceed with proposals to construct new dressing rooms and ancillary facilities at the Abbey Park. This decision is based on a number of elements falling into place. Work will now proceed on putting the financial arrangements in place and tenders will be sought thereafter.

Lotto:
There was no jackpot winner in the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in Kate Lavin's. The €20 winners were as follows; Dessie McLoughlin, Pat Brogan, James Dodd, Maeve and Seamus Brennan, Donal Kelly, Eileen McGowan, Evelyn O'Donnell, Amy Sweeney, Ann McGlynn and Irene Tivnan. The house prize was won by Noel Mullaney. The next draw will be held in Wynne's Bar on Saturday night next with Team A under Aidan Lavin in charge. The jackpot will be €1,500.

Thanks:
Boyle club wishes its former intermediate team manager John Bruen the best of luck as he takes over the management of his native Eastern Harps. We wish to sincerely thank John for his dedication to the management of Boyle to the Intermediate Championship Final and the winning of The Tansey Cup in 2008 and the achievement of promotion to the O'Gara Cup league for 2009.

Adult Scor:
Those interested in participating in the Boyle colours in the forthcoming Adult Scór competitions are again reminded to contact the P.R.O. on 086 2413529.

Congrats:
Congratulations are extended to Damien Keenehan on making an impressive debut on the Roscommon senior team in the FBD League game against NUIG on Sunday. It was great to see him alongside his club teammates David Casey and Sean Purcell on the county team.

Congratulations are also extended to Dermot Earley on his having been extended the Freedom of Co. Roscommon by Roscommon County Council recently.

Abbey College Final:
Boyle's Abbey College second year team are playing their much postponed Connacht Final against Glenamaddy in Loughglynn on this Tuesday at 2pm.Support would be appreciated.

Sympathy:
Sympathy is extended to Club Vice-President, Paddy McDermott, Carrick Road on the recent death of his sister.

GAA History on T.V.
T. na G. are currently running a series on the history of the GAA on Sundays at 3.45 and repeated on Friday nights at 9. They are short 25 minute segments.
P.S. It was interesting to hear that the Cuala team in the south side of Dublin city has 60 teams in its club and it is not the only club in this position on the city and perhaps in some other locations.

Bon Voyage: (The French version)
I had a good conversation to former Boyle player Ciaran Conlon on GAA and other matters in Brisbane. Safe journey back Ciaran and family.

Boyle Ladies Club
.
The Ladies GAA Club will hold its AGM in the Royal Hotel on this Saturday evening 17th January at 6.30pm. All interested in further promoting ladies football in Boyle are encouraged to attend.
Slan is beannacht.
