Challenge V Geevagh:
There was an interesting challenge for the Senior League team versus Geevagh in the Abbey Community School Pitch on Sunday morning. Boyle are seriously depleted by the number of injuries, emigration and so forth. Among those on the injured list at present are: Kieran Supple, Ml. P. Gilmartin, Stephen Tonra, Paul Simon. The scratch team on Sunday was as follows: T. McGarty, B. Supple, T. Egan, C. Beirne, A. Sharkey, M.O’Connor, Ml. O’Donnell, C. Cox, A. O’Connor, D. Callaghan, Ph. Hunt, P. Lavin. C. Smith, D. O’Connor and L. Conboy with D.Kelly, J. McDermott, J.Healy, C. Horan. Missing L. Conroy, J.S. Lyons, C. Beirne, N. McKenna, S. Purcell and D. Casey. Geevagh are a team that Boyle could play a series of challenges against, to mutual benefit, since the games are played in the right spirit and of course Michael Brennan ensures that no niggardly and mean spirited play develops and would therefore be carried to the next game. On Sunday there were interesting contributions from Ml. O’Donnell at wing back and Tadhg Egan at full back and the inclusion of Phillip Hunt. Peter Lavin did well in securing possession but will have to get to know when to pass and lay it off.
Ladies:
The Ladies had their Presentation night in the Golf Club last Saturday night. I haven’t heard anything about it. Perhaps what happens in the Golf Club stays in the Golf club!

Sin E. M.D./T.C.
(I’ll have an a/c of last week’s County Board Meeting up later).
