Sat. 12 noon. Tomorrow, Sunday the 28th, will give us a guideline as to where we are, 'going forward' (!). The U 16s', a very good side, play Oran, away, at 12 and the Intermediate team play Strokestown in Strokestown, at 2.30, in the Division One League. Boyle are missing a good few players through migration, injury et al but we will see how we stand up to those constraints with the 'big boys' tomorrow.
Richard McGee told me yesterday, a former Boyle Gaelic football, from a good number of years ago (maybe even decades) who was 'prayed for' recently. He was Tom Carroll who was known by the lovely nickname of 'Pronto' (possibly movie influenced). Richard said: "He was a dainty footballer" and saw him play in 'Flynn's field in Greatmeadow'. He was a miller with Stewarts and went to Australia. I presume he has connections in Boyle since he was 'prayed for'. So, in the unlikely event that you read this, and if you are in contact with his family in Oz tell them Boyle GAA remembers Tom and perhaps someone might let me know where in Oz the family live.
