10 pm Just a heads up. The Senior team put in a spirited performance in the second half to get a very important win over Ros. Gaels Boyle 1.10 Roscommon Gaels 0.10. They came from being behind at half-time- Ros. Gaels 0.7 Boyle 0.4. A Liam Conroy goal eight minutes into the second half was the trigger for the swing. There were fine performances, especially in the second half- a poor first half- from a good number of players. The appearance of David Casey for the second half was a great incentive. Ciaran Cox and Cian Smith really got into things in that second half with Darren, Mark, and Aaron O'Connor playing key roles. The backs too did well with Tomas good in goals, Barney had a good hour at corner back. Kieran Supple made a welcome return at full back and had a tough task on O'Gara ably assisted by Cian Beirne The half backs tried hard all through Seanie had a tough duel with Nolan while O'Donnell and Sharkey were always willing to drive forward. Again the scoring from frees taken by Mark O'connor and Cian Smith played a key role in the result. The Boyle team: McGarty/Supple/Supple/Beirne/Sharkey/Purcell/O'Donnell/A.O'Connor 1point /Cox 3/Callaghan/M. O'Connor 4 (3 frees)/ Smith 1/ Karl Feighan/D. O'Connor 1/Conroy goal with D. Casey. We now have 9 points in the Div. 1 League which should mean we will retain Div. 1 football for next year which is a real achievement even by May. Our next game is against table toppere St. Failes. on Wed. of next week.
