Update always

Fri. 12.40am
The Minor Board Annual Church Gate Collection will take pace this coming week-end on Sat 28th / Sun 29th. So  be aware of it and support it in whatever way you can. The collection has been a vital part of the funding of the minor club down the years.

Wed. 7.30. All managers are asked not to train on or use the main pitch during this bad weather spell. As can be seen it is taking its toll on the pitch with not growth etc and the pitch is needed to be in good shape for coming games. So please use the training pitch or the Warren grounds. Wed. 1.45. A number of the older players are having an informal social night on Friday night next 27th April in the Moylurg to mark veteran coach Sean Young's significant recent birthday. As the notice says this is an informal event and hopefully many of the players who played with him or were coached by him will be able to be present as a mark of recognition and appreciation for Sean's enormous contribution to the club down the decades.

Tues. 10.3opm. The minor game against Pearses which has been a moveable feast has been fixed for Sunday next the 29th in Woodmount at 6pm.

Mon. 8 pm. (See Ladies Club addition below at 8.30) I have just been informed, per. club Chairman, that the U 21 All-Ireland Final will take place on SUNDAY the 6th of May at 2pm in TULLAMORE. That's not a bad venue and the fact that it is on a Sunday gives everybody who wants to go a chance to go.
Oh yes I hope the town gets appropriately 'togged out' in the coming week or so to honour the occasion. Just to mention that Boyle has a number of All-...Ir. U 21 winners from the town and living here; Pat Clarke, John and Pat Nicholson and John Kelly from the great 1966 team which defeated Kildare and Gerry Emmett from the 1978 team that defeated Kerry in Ros. and Gary Wynne who captained Ros. in their defeat to Donegal at Carrick on Shannon in '82.
Ros. therefore have won two '66 & '78 and lost two '69 (v Antrim @Croke Park) & 82 and also lost semi finals v Kerry in '99 (Ennis) and v Dublin (Breffni Park) in 2010. T.C.
There were a couple of GAA related news items of interest today. One was in relation to the positive role of defibrillators in saving a Dublin club player. Interestingly there was a reference to the fact that the battery was 'low' so they need to be checked obviously, from time to time. The second note referrred to the Wicklow team having been 'robbed' litterly yesterday, at Trim I think, while they were playing Down in a hurling match. Someone slipped up with the door-locking duty. The price of x, y, z is eternal vigilance!  T.C.

Mon. 8.30
Hi Tony,
Please include the following on the Blog;-

Boyle U16 Girls will play their eagerly awaited Division 1 League County Final on Sunday next 29th in Cootehall at 3.30pm against neighbours Shannon Gaels. All GAA supporters and parents are urged to come along and support this talented panel in what will be their biggest challenge to date. Flags and banners will add colour to the occasion.
