Sat. 11.15 pm.
Boyle’s Intermediate Championship Group of 4 is: Boyle, St. Michael’s, St. Dominick’s and Eire Og. A good variety there from St. Dominick’s who knocked Boyle out last year and reached the county final only to lose to favourites Strokestown. Then there is the local derby between us and St. Michael’s and Eire Og.
Boyle is in the junior ‘A’ division this year and their group is Boyle; Clann na Gael Oran and X.
I am just after watching a cracking hurling game between Clarenbridge, Galway i.e. the Kearns (sp.?) brothers versus De La Salle, Waterford, with John Mullane and co. It went to extra time and while one wants Clarenbridge to win you have to feel for De la Salle. Then I tried to watch a bit of Manchester Utd. versus Crawley but gave up. It was awful.
I mention two T. V. programmes: One on Monday night at 7.30 ‘Cloch Le Carn’ profiles Roscommon great Dermot Earley. The other on Sunday evening is a profile of Mayo Senior Champions for 2010, Ballintubber outside Castlebar where there is a lovely Abbey which I recommend people to visit.
Lotto: There was no Jackpot winner in the draw of Feb. 12th in Kate Lavin’s. The €20 winners were: Ml. Brennan, Lorcan Egan, Ailbhe Hanmore, Anne Conboy, Barbara McQuaid, Ml. Egan, Ann Marie Hannon, Ml. Healy, Ml. Foley, Martini McDonnell. The House Prize was won by Barry Harvey. The Jackpot now stands at €2,800 and the next draw on Sat. Feb. the 26th (the night of the election count) is in Wynne’s Bar with team ‘D’.
I’m still seeing those faulty dimmed lights. They are dangerous, especially if the light is the one on the right, and approach you as if they were just motorbikes.
