Lotto: The following were €20 winners at the Club's most recent draw which was held in Kate Lavin's recently;-Michael Brennan, Lorcan Egan, Ailbhe Hanmore, Ann Conboy, Barbara McQuaid, Michael Egan, Ann Marie Hannon, Michael Healy, Michael Foley and Martina McDonnell. The house prize was won by Barry Harvey. There was no jackpot winner and a jackpot of €2,800 will carry forward to this week's draw which will be held in Wynnes Bar on this Saturday night, with Mary Clifford's team in charge.
The Club's competitive season gets under way this weekend with the minor team entertaining Clann na Gael in the Abbey Park on Sunday at 12 noon. The Cooney Motors/Cooney's Centra junior team will commence their season with a game versus Michael Glaveys on Sunday-see fixtures for details. The Club is extremely grateful to Alan Cooney and Cooney Motors/ Cooney's Centra for coming on board as sponsors of the junior team for the coming season.
The draws for the forthcoming championships have unearthed some interesting prospects for Boyle teams. The McGovern Directional Drilling team will vie with neighbours St Michaels and Eire Og and St Dominics while the junior team will participate in the Junior A Championship against Clan na Gael B,Castlerea B and Oran.
Tickets are selling well for the forthcoming Club draw-as represented on the poster over- which features the vey attractive first prize of a weekend away in New York for the forthcoming Connacht Championship game as well as other attractive weekend away prizes. All Club players and menbers are urged to complete the sale of their allocated quota as soon as possible and to report completion of their sales to the Club Treasurer.
The Club will be represented in a number of events on the adult Scór competitions which have been re-fixed for Friday 5th March. The Club is supporting the appeal by former St Mary's College student and Boyle GAA Clubman Ciaran Conlon to support his efforts to rebuild his GAA Clubrooms and pitches in Brisbane which were destroyed by the recent floods. Those wishing to assist should contact Tony Conboy.
Sympathy is extended to Frank O'Mahoney and family, Maple Drive on the sad passing of Kathleen.
Best wishes are extended to St Brigids as they take on Nemo Rangers in the All Ireland Semi Final on Saturday next in Limerick.
Ladies Club
Boyle U16s’
had a convincing win over St Croan’s in the Abbey Park on Sunday. Their next outing will be against Kilmore on 6th March.
Congratulations are extended to the Roscommon senior ladies and our representatives theron, Maria and Suzie Keenehan on their great start to the season.
