Tuesday 10pm: The following were €20 winners are the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in Clarkes;-Deirdre Purcell, Aaron O'Connor, Perpetua McGee, John and Margeurite Nally, Peter Gavican, Monica Daly, Maura Shannon, Ethan O'Flaherty, Sean Simon and Fergal Quinn. The house prize was won by Carmel McMaster. The jackpot wasn't won and a jackpot of €2,600 will be on offer for this week's draw which will be held in the Patrick's Well on Saturday night next with Team ‘B’ in charge.
The Club's adult teams are in preparation for the upcoming O'Rourke Cup and Tansey Cup competitions which will commence on the last weekend in February. The County Board has also determined that this years adult championships will be based on three groups of four teams and that it will commence in early May. The method by which it is proposed to run will mean that teams will retain an interest in the competition until the last series of games are played.
The Club's new dressing rooms were awarded a ‘certificate of merit’ at a gala awards ceremony by the Local Authority Member's Association (LAMA) in Dublin on Saturday night last. The function was attended by Club officials.
The adult Scor competitions will begin shortly and the Club is anxious to participate in all of the categories, which include figure dancing, set dancing, instrumental music, solo singing, recitation, ballad group, novelty act and quiz. Best wishes are extended to Club player Peter Lavin who is going to New Zealand to study there as part of his degree studies. We look forward to his return for the championship.
The Club extends its sympathy to the Garvin and Egan families, Boyle on the sad passing of Lucy and to Pat Gannon and family, Ardagh on the death of his mother, Mary, Sandyhill, Charlestown.
