The Club's Senior AGM.

There was an excellent attendance at the Club AGM which was held on Sunday last. It was the first AGM to be held in our new clubroom and the pride of the attendance in the excellent facilities that now exist was expressed on numerous occasions throughout the meeting. The Chairperson Aidan Lavin welcomed the attendance and thanked all for their hard work and dedication during the past year and the paid tribute to the various teams and their managements and his fellow officers and the he expressed the appreciation of the Club of the the many generous sponsors and those who have supported the various fundraising activities of the Club. He also thanked all involved in co-ordinating the use of the pitch.
The President John Joe Nerney complimented all involved in their achievements on the playing fields and in our infrastructural development throughout 2010.
Secretary, Kathleen Hanmore presented a very comprehensive report of Club activities for the year, and Treasurer Mary Smith provided a detailed report on the financial position of the Club. A presentation was made to former Treasurer Michael Gilmartin who stepped down during the year. The Club acknowledged the strong involvement of Boyle players and team management on various county teams and special reference was made to the winning of Connacht Championship medals by David Casey and Sean Purcell at senior and by Ciaran Cox at U21 level.
The following officers were elected; President-John Joe Nerney, Vice Presidents-Barry Feely and Paddy McDermott, Chairperson-Aidan Lavin, Secretary-Kathleen Hanmore, Assistant Secretary-Mary Clifford, Treasurer-Mary Smith, Assistant Treasurer-Mary Halligan, P.R.Os Martin Dolan and Tony Conboy, Insurance Officer-Michael Furey, Registrar-Brian Supple, Delegates to County Board-Mary Clifford and Martin Dolan subs. Tony Conboy and Ernie Keenan. Delegates to North West Board- Michael Brennan and Paul Beirne. History Committee-T. Conboy, M.Clifford and M.Dolan. The posts of Vice Chair and Players Representative are to be filled at the next Club meeting. The following team management appointments were ratified;- Senior-Gary Wynne (Manager) with David O'Connor, Joe Sweeney, Barry Greaney and Bernard Shannon, Junior-David O'Connor (Manager) with Bernard Shannon and Paul Beirne, U21-David O'Connor(Manager) with B.Shannon, P.Beirne and Aidan Lavin.
The Club expresses its sympathy with the Harte family, Tyrone on the death of Michaela and with the McDermott family, Behy, Boyle on the death of Thomas and with the McManus and Shine families, Clan na Gael on their bereavements.
The Club wishes "bon voyage" to former Club captain Tadhg Egan who has emigrated to Canada. It is to be hoped that circumstances will improve whereby our many emigrants will be able to return and find employment among us.
The street league which has been running since Christmas reached its finale on Sunday with an exciting final in the Abbey Park when the lads from the Town overcame their comrades from the Warren. This has been a most exciting league which has taken place over four days and involving 53 players. Thanks to all involved.
(All players who use the gym in the Abbey Park (old dressingrooms) are asked to sign on arrival).
The minor club held a very well attended awards night in St Joseph's Hall on Friday night last. County player Sean Purcell was in attendance to present the various awards. The panels in all age groups from U8 upwards were presented with suitably inscribed certificates. The following received Most Improved Player awards;- U12-Jonah Tighe, U14-Dermot O'Driscoll,U16-Jordan Nally and U18-Luke Harrington. The following received Player of the Year awards;-U12-Conor Deerey, U14-Dylan Mattimoe, U16-Brian Furey and U18-Donal Smith. The Minor Club expresses its appreciation of Kieran McKeon of Kieran McKeon Tyres for generous sponsorship of playing gear for the U12s and U14s.
